1930s Winter & Co. Spinet Piano w Bench Mahogany Inlay
|

For your consideration is a spinet piano, a Musette made by Winter and Company in the late 1930s. All parts function and are in good condition. It plays beautifully and has good tone and key action. Its finish is mahogany with a handsome string inlay and a matching bench. Dimensions are 57 1/2" long X 24" wide X 35" tall. The exterior of the casement is cosmetically in good condition with minor nicks and scratches, the keytops have aged to a rich ivory. The board in front of the keys bears the "Musette" logo, the original Winter and Company warranty sticker for the resotonic scale and brass plate with patent information are still in place. The bench with with matching inlay, hinged top and large compartment for sheet music in the seat was made by Tonkbench, Chicago. This piano does need to be tuned and has not been played recently. It has belonged to the same family, was kept in the same room since its late 1930s purchase and has been well cared for. When not in use, its case was always kept closed. It is a great piano to learn on or play for enjoyment or for a crowd. It is from an estate. A variety of items from this multi-generation family collection can be seen in my current auctions and those in months to come. I don't even know what's next myself so please do return for the next chapter!

Payment is due within 10 days of auction close. For United States sales, I accept PayPal, checks and money orders. Item may be held until personal check clears. NY residents must add 8.625% tax. International sales are PayPal only. Thank you for shopping with me on eBay.
I ship worldwide both quickly and cost effectively, almost always within a day of your payment. I try to keep costs as low as possible, shipping most often by U.S. Mail which is effecting a May 2008 rate increase. Insurance at additional cost is optional and required on purchases in excess of $100. Odd-shaped, very large or fragile items may require specially purchased or double boxing, adding to the cost of shipping an item. Wherever possible, I use USPS or clean recycled cartons to keep costs low. I am always happy to combine multiple items to reduce shipping costs.
All items are vintage and sold "AS IS". I make every effort to provide accurate descriptions and photographs. Refunds are permitted only in the event of inadvertent misrepresentation and immediate notification upon receipt. Information pertaining to age and origin is often based on my own knowledge of the family and its history.
We're descendants of a family of packrats, folks who saved anything interesting or appealing that looked as if it might one day prove useful. Most of our auctions are from a family estate -- true one-of-a-kind vintage treasures that span the 20th century.
I strive for five stars on all sales. If you feel I do not earn 5 stars, please contact me so we can make it right. Please email with any questions. You will receive a timely reply.
