This is an opportunity to purchase an original piece of New York City hotel memorabilia and a relic of 1930's Manhattan. This original 5.5" x 3.5", photo-montage postcard was printed by Lumitone Photoprint of New York, to advertise various views of the impressive "New and Beautiful Hotel Victoria". The front highlights the building's prime location at Seventh Avenue and Fifty-First Street as it appeared in the late 1930's with period automobiles in heavy traffic in the surrounding streets. The front side's photo montage also includes views of the hotel's brand-new Convention Hall, wonderful Art Moderne Bar & Cocktail Room, the Friendly Lobby and a Typical Suite. It also mentions to "Visit the World's Fair of 1939". On the reverse, the informative copy states "26 floors of sunshine and courtesy. 1,000 rooms with tub and shower, radio, ice water; adjacent to Rockefeller Center. All subways within one block. New buses pass door. Transient and residential. A minute from everywhere. All rooms and suites elegantly furnished." In good condition except for a small crease, this hand-tinted piece of Manhattan history would make a fine addition to any New York City, vintage New York hotel, travel or postcard collection.
