1939 SOUVENIR INDIAN STATE FAIR BEADED SHOE PIN CUSHION
Presenting a 1939 souvenir Indian, probably Iroquois native, hand beaded shoe shaped pin cushion. Dated in beads 1939 and also beaded STATE FAIR. Great design, fair condition! So much attention has been given in the making of the detail of this handsewn beaded cushion. At the turn of the 20th century, Iroquois men and women crafted beadwork souvenirs in the Niagara Falls area and the St. Lawrence River Valley, near Montreal. This cushion is filled with saw dust. This lovely turn pin cushion has wonderful colored beads that are all hand sewn. There is bead loss on one edge section as seen in photo, and some bead loss in the florals but that is to be expected with anything that has survived over 69 years. The measurements are 5-1/4" at base widest point and 7" tall. This is the heirloom item you can pass down through your generations. What a spectacular addition to one's antique beadwork collection. I have listed other Woodland Indian beadwork pieces from my collection. This is my private 20 year collection. Thank you for your interest about this item. You can find other antique North American Indian beadwork items in my Ebay Store.
