Can you imagine a young boy in the 40's getting these building bricks for Christmas!

These wood bricks are the original American Bricks from the 40's.

American Bricks were made in numbered sets. Included with this set of bricks is an original booklet showing many of the different sets and some of their construction.

As the booklet says, "It's more fun to create a new model than it is to copy one".

Each brick has the name American Brick imprinted on it. Main bricks are red; other colors of the bricks are for foundations and lintels.

Bricks interlock by means of studs and look similar to Lego bricks in that the studs are laid out in a 4x2 pattern on the standard size brick.

Each 2x4 wood brick weighs about .2 ounces.

There are approximately 73 yellow rectangular 2x4 bricks and approximately 298 red rectangular 2x4 bricks.

There are approximately 148 red square 2x2 bricks.

There are approximately 63 red 2x2 wedge shaped bricks.

The early doors and windows were made of cardboard.

There are no windows or doors with these bricks but you could make your own.

With the wood bricks, you can build realistic looking buildings that would look good with your model railroad train layouts.

There is an original booklet showing pictures for different buildings you can create.

There are many building bricks, all in good condition without chips.

These bricks are in very good condition, showing minimal playwear.
