1940 University Michigan style Leather Football Helmet

1940s LG University of Michigan  as well as Delaware Style leather Football helmet -Yellow Wing panel three yellow straps and on a Blue field - -  This one is a great Wing style.This Wing style  was also  used in the 30s and 40s by many teams..with color variations from natural brown leather to custom colors of schools.  Famous for this time period were the Hey days of Tom Harmon  who was a bullet of a runner. this was in 193-144 .  Michigan has retained this design which was brought there by a coach from Princetopn who used the same style but with a black and orange coloration.  Other teams in the late 20s and early 30s also wore a wing style which was an innovation by Sp[alding to actually add more padding to the helmet and then schools used it as a design element.  Past Time Sports alos hand crafts other helmets of that time period see their E-bay store for more styles and colors.
