This auction is for a vintage 1940's railroad baggage sign and 10 baggage tags. This RAILWAY EXPRESS AGENCY sign is nearly exactly identical on each side and the only difference is the few real tiny hard to notice scratches. This sign, in excellent condition for its age, is a 14" by 14" painted on masonite, aluminum framed, advertising sign that weighs 1 lb. 5 ozs. with a single hole for hanging in the diamond shape, typical of Railway Express Agency's recognizable logo. The 10 unused baggage tags are dated 7-44 and have a double wire for attachment to the shipping item. These 6 1/2" by 5" tags are mostly all in excellent condition with a few having tiny frays or a small crease on the corners. This is a rare combination of vintage railroad nostalgic collectibles that is sure to impress.

 Q: What you have, was called a "call card". It was hung in the window by the shipper to alert the passing Railway Express truck to stop and pick up outgoing freight.
