You are bidding on what I believe is a Ludwig "Junior" drum set from 1942.This set is all original, and in very good condition, with no extra holes or mods.Just in time for the 4th of July with it's original red, white and blue finish! Here are the details:
All drums are finished in an original white laquer which is in great condition with minor scratches & nicks in the finish, but without the normal checking found with duco types of finish. All hardware is nickel plated, and in very good condition, and will clean up easily. All drums have a tacked Ludwig badge, and a red and blue striped decal around the center.
The bass drum measures 7 x 18" with the original calf skin heads which are in great shape. The mounted tom measures 5 x 7",with a tacked pigskin head which is tight and in great shape also. Both of these drums appear to be of maple plies without reinforcement hoops, and in round..The snare drum measures 7 x 12" with the original snare strainer and wires. The shell on this drum appears to be of a bakelight fibre construction, and is also solid and in round. The only date stamp I could find is in the bass drum which is marked 4208(August,1942).
Also included are the original Ludwig "Junior" bass drum pedal, hoop mount tom arm, cymbal arm with a Ludwig 10" cymbal, and the snare drum stand shown.Overall,a rare collectible set which would make great "centerpiece" to any Ludwig collection,or for that budding Buddy Rich of the future.
