1:25,000 series prepared by the

Geographical Section General Staff

for the D Day Invasion.

 This is a folded map which opens to 590mm x 420mm

 These Bigot Maps were classified at the highest level

of secrecy, and were updated with

aerial and intelligence information to the

19 May less than 3 weeks before the actual landing.

These maps are packed with details much of it

obtained by the local Resistance and show

the terrain obstacles and defences

that the Allied forces expecte to meet.

They will be of great interest to historians

and to all who are interested in tracing those

historic days.

Map covers - area around Vieville-sur-Mer and Pointe du Hoc, the invasion area known as Omaha Beach.
