This official invitation to attend the unveiling of a plaque celebrating the 100th anniversary (1844-1944) of the telegraph was addressed to one Sharon Jarrett of Falls Church, Virginia, and was sent by the controversial U.S. Senator Burton K. Wheeler, whose signature appears on the 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" envelope. The heavy-paper invitation measures 6 1/4" x 9 1/4" and is in excellent condition, showing no tears or stains, though there is a minor paperclip impression on the top edge. Buyer pays $2.75 postage/handling. Georgia residents add 6% sales tax. |
