Portions of the text of this ad read:
....story of a Lima 1201 crane, 80 foot boom and capacity of 45 tons, that was operated by civilians on Guam in 1942. When the Japanese invaded the island, the civilians dynamited the crane, saturated it with gasoline and set it afire..................the Japanese probed into what remained of the crane and endeavored to rebuild it, but were unsuccessful.
When the Yanks returned to Guam, the Japanese attempted to destroy what they had rebuilt of the crane - the Seabees, however, dug it out of the dirt, rebuilt it successfully and arranged for its transportation from the Seabee repair unit where it was rebuilt to Sumay. The 95 ton mass was painstakingly loaded onto a 927th Army Engineers 60 ton low trailer for the 25 mile trip, that stopped every mile to let the tires cool.
