Few ’48-P’s have survived in brilliant as superb as the example being offered. The 1948-P also makes the ideal type coin when found in this pristine state, as the master die used to strike the working dies was in its freshest die state, with all detail in sharp relief. When found fully struck as this coin, all elements as the designer intended are BOLD! Only 73 examples certified in MS 66 FBL by NGC, perhaps 10 rank among the superb brilliant variety as this coin.
