I bought this 1949 Hudson Super Six coupe the end of May. This car was stored in a garage and forgotten from 1963 until about 2003, when the last owner came into possession of it and moved it to a pole barn. I now have it here in my garage.
Body is fair; some rot to fender tops and left front by grille; some rot at front of rocker; doors hood and deck lid are solid; some rot above the rear wheels. Unibody rear frame rails have rotted in the usual places. However that's the worst of this car's problems.
Mechanically the 262-CI motor turns over and the oil in it was normal; I'm changing it and cleaning things up to test fire the motor in a week or two. Everything on carb moves as intended; motor has optional aluminum head and plugs are loose; no sign of freeze issues, radiator seems to be dry. Clutch does not seem to be stuck; trans shifts through gears okay; car rolls and steers easily. I flat towed this car to bring it home. Car was complete to an old battery under the hood.
Interior is fair. Front seat has a cover and uhpolstery is poor under it. Dash is nice, plastic on wheel and knobs in good shape. Has radio and turn signals. Could be made presentable. Will probably need a left windshield to pass inspection; has several cracked side windows too.
Not in a hurry to sell, tinkering with some repairs and looking into frame repairs. But similar cars have sold on eBay in past auctions in the $2500 range.
May be a good car for a custom project, or an early NASCAR clone. Depending on your point of view, the rear frame rail issues may make it suitable only for parts - there is no reproduction or patch panel available to repair this area.
This car is currently located in Liverpool NY and I'm planning to try to keep it in the general Syracuse area for the foreseeable future.

eBay forces me to include this redundant and confusing statement in this listing - their words, not mine: “This vehicle is being sold for parts only and is not operational or street legal. Therefore, upon purchase, it will need to be either towed or trailered. eBay encourages its members to learn about their state laws governing vehicle sales prior to the sale or purchase of a vehicle.”
