You are bidding on a rare piece of Americana. This is a real Schwinn dealer`s window sign decal from the 1950`s and a partial brochure. The decal measures approx. 11-3/8" high x 8-5/8" wide and is creme, red, dark blue and gold in color. Shows "Authorized Dealer" at the top, Schwinn Bicycles in script, "parts and accessories" and " We Service What We Sell " at the bottom. This was a water applied decal for glass or painted surfaces with instructions on the back for applications of such. It was made by the Palm, Fechteler & Co., Chicago, Ill. and has the Translac trademark on the back also. This was the decal sign that was copied to make the repo metal signs that were being sold a few years ago. This is the real deal. It shows a small crease at the top, otherwise it is in very good condition for it`s 50+ years of age. It will transfer to however you would like to display it or just keep it under a sheet of glass as an original decal unmounted, your choice. I`ve also included in this auction a partial Schwinn catalog which came from the same dealer. This dealer also sold motorcycles up until the 1980`s. This is an opportunity to purchase a rare and unique bicycle collectible.
