1950s & 1975 Vintage Sewing & Crafts Magazines & Book
These vintage sewing & crafts magazines & book come from the collection of my friend's mother, who died recently at 101-years old. She was quite the seamstress in her day and I am listing many of her craft-sewing items. If interested, please check out my other listings for more of her vintage collection.
Two of these magazines are "Smart Sewing" from 1953 (7th edition) and 1955 (10th edition). They contain lots of sewing tips and tricks, things to make without patterns, templates for patterns, and some cutouts from other sources that Lois slipped into the pages. Some other items: squaw skirts, middies, machine embroidery, furs for dolls, nylon petticoats, theatre hats ... lots more fascinating 1950s icons. Complete, yellowed edges, smells like an old magazine (duh).
The other is a hardback book from 1975, "Make It Yourself," the complete step-by-step library of needlework and crafts. 122 pages. Surprisingly, the projects - of all kinds - are not dated looking! This is a useable book. Sewing, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, rug-making ... it's all here with full instructions. Complete, yellowed edges, light old book odor.
Items I list come from several sources: my stuff, my Mother's (which is now my stuff, too), friends, and relatives, some of whom I am helping to downsize. I list items for others for free ... I just enjoy meeting people -- however briefly -- from all over the world. I'm not in the selling business. Please take a gander at my other items as my listings are as varied as are my friends and relatives. One never knows what one might find.
Combined shipping on all my items.
Please note, when shipping 1st class outside the USA, I get a mailing receipt at the post office to prove I have mailed the item. That is, unfortunately, the end of my responsibility. I have never had an item not be delivered, but there are too many variables during the delivery process, and 1st class cannot be tracked. If you want an item tracked, the more expensive international priority rate will have to be used.
