Here is a set of tea towel motifs dating from the 1950's. These would make attractive designs in corners of tea towels. Also, you could leave off the day of the week and use them for quilt blocks. The lazy daisy, French knot and outline stitch may be used in any color combination such as yellow hair, flesh color for skin, any color dress and hair bow, black shoes and eyes and pink or red for lips.
Yesterday's Charm iron-on transfers are good for two or more transfers each. When a transfer is used up, it can still be used as a traceable design. Transfers are dark gray lines and work best on light colored fabrics. If you are using 100% cotton, transfers should wash out to faint lines or wash away completely.
Just as the women of yesterday, these designs can be used for all kinds of things, painted onto lampshades, furniture, and clothing. Embroidered on linens, quilt squares, window curtains, dust ruffles, aprons, clothing, etc. So use your imagination to adapt these patterns for many uses.
