"Be it known that I, CLARENCE L. FENDER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Fullerton, in the county or Orange and State of California, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Guitar..."

Background:

In 1953, a patent was issued to Clarence L. Fender, for his design of the Fender Precision Bass Guitar. The Fender Precision Bass, also known as the P-bass, was the first mass-produced electric bass guitar.
