Hello and Welcome!   Please check our store for other great items this week!  Today we have a Lionel Congressional Passenger set, #2254W,  from 1955 only!  This set is headed by a Tuscan #2340 GG-1 that still has decent striping as you can see in the pictures. I left the original dirt and dust on it, that is up to the new owner to clean. The items you see in the pictures are what you will recieve.  Even the original track that came with the set is here.  We will pack that separately.  This set originally included the Tuscan GG-1 #2340 with dual Pulmor motors and Magna-Traction and four Aluminum Passenger cars.  Including: The 2541 Alexander Hamilton Observation car, the 2544 Molly Pitcher Pullman car, the 2543 William Penn Pullman car and the 2542 Besty Ross Vista Dome passenger car.  There is also a boxed UCS track with instructions.  All the car boxes still have the inner flaps, end flaps and great color still. There are some scrapes and tears, but not bad. There are two boxes that I see with tape on the inside of an end flap to hold it on, the 2544 and 2543.  The set box has all flaps and they are on securely.  The word "trains" is written on the box top, about three inches long in black magic marker.  The inside of the box is clean.  You can see where someone put the letter D on one end.  The #2254W is clearly visable.   There had been tape on the box way back, but was removed, you can see old glue from the tape on sides and top.   There are a few wrinkles in the box as you can see and a couple frayed edges, but all in all, a very nice set box from 1955 for this Congressional train!  The #2340 GG-1 engine box is very nice with a great inner liner too!  This box was opened at both ends.  You can clearly read the writing on the box including the number 2340 on the ends and side, where it says 2340-10.  A couple nicks and dents but a super box here for the engine. The 2340 GG-1 is clean underneath, no corrosion, and is a nice example, grading excellent in my opinion. The Tuscan paint is great , just a little dirty.  The four aluminum cars grade better than excellent in my opinion.  It is hard to get good pictures of aluminum cars with ridges in them for some reason, but, they are nice, just have original dirt on them which can clean some if you want.  Personally, I would leave all the way it is.   As you can see there is also the 1955 Lionel catalog, the original instruction sheet for the locomotive, an instruction booklet, original wires to hook up the set,  a tube of lubricant , 1955 Billboards, and a booklet showing Lionel service stations!  I tested the engine and she works beautifully!  This set was only used at Christmas time then taken down and stored.  It was well cared for by its former owner as you can tell!  What a lucky kid to have his dad get this for him for Christmas!  He had much trouble parting with his collection of beautiful Lionel boxed sets, as you can imagine!   When you are going to downsize to a smaller home, there is always consequences like this.  But now, someone else can enjoy this wonderfull, rare,  Lionel train set for many years to come!    This set was obtained from a beautiful Lionel post-war collection that includes other sets with set boxes, keep watching!!
