Herbert Clarence Bradshaw (1908-1976), Virginia Baptist author, historian, journalist, churchman, educator and civic leader in Virginia and North Carolina, editorial page editor of Durham Morning Herald.

 

Bradshaw wrote Toward the Dawn, History of Hampden-Sydney College, General Marshall’s Victory Report, History of Prince Edward County, Virginia and The Historical Background and Content of Roman Satire.

Dust jacket: Light blue with complete separation at back hinge and chipped edges.

 

Dark blue clothbound with boards that are well attached and have very little edge wear; front board has gilt frame and title. Backstrip is sunned and rubbed, with gilt title. Brief ink inscription on front free endpaper, otherwise no markings or signs of previous ownership. Binding is tight, no loose, missing, bent or torn pages; leaves have no foxing, fading or offset.
