THIS SET IS OUT OF PRODUCTION
1956, a time of rock & roll, baseball and Chevrolet. Eisenhower is re-elected President and Dr. Albert Sabin develops the oral polio vaccine. Elvis sings "Don't be Cruel" and "Blue Suede Shoes" and the Yankees defeat Brooklyn in the World Series. And Chevrolet continues to dominate the American Automobile scene.
The cars in this set are beauties, and is quite significant they represent the final offering from Vickie's Gifts joining the Red '56 Lincoln Continental, . It is a complete UNOPENED 3-car set, one of only 750 ever made. Vickie's has Franklin Mint make some special changes to each of the 3 cars as described below.
It features a '56 Bel Air Convertible painted white over light blue. Instead of the standard wheel discs found on the regular Franklin Mint issues, this car has the optional Wire Wheels.
Next is a '56 Coupe. This one painted a striking Silver over Plum. The fender skirts have been removed, giving this car a much more realistic stance.
Last is the '56 Nomad. This is painted gloss Black with Black and white interior. This is the only Nomad with Rally Wheels.
Every car has a Numbered Plate in the trunk showing it to be # xxx of only 750 of these ever made. Each car in the set bears the same number. This set originally sold for $425.00. Franklin Mint has made very few Limited Edition models in numbers less than 1000 pieces making this set even more desirable. This is a terrific set of '56's!
