This guitar is an amazing find. This guitar has been sitting in storage in a closet for years. There are some cosmetic flaws as a result of being 53 years old however. The finish has checking, there are some nicks and cracks (most fairly minor) throughout.
The guitar has been tested and it does work. It has not been tested extensively, however, so we cannot comment on the sound of the P-90 pickups, the tone, or any other audible quality.
We believe everything on the guitar to be original (please see photo slide show and make your own determination). As a result of the guitar being untouched (unused for many years), there are some things that need repair: the tuners are not in great shape and don't turn well (the worst being the two highest strings), the bridge is being pulled up as a result of how the strings were put on, and the tone knob (top) doesn't turn. There is a crack or scratch on the neck, near the nut, but it does not appear that the crack/scratch goes very deep and it is not detrimental to the neck's structural integrity - see close-up photo.
Also included with the guitar is a vintage case that we believe to be original. It is a Gibson case. It is their "alligator case." There is some writing on the top that we don't believe is original, and there is also some damage on the case due to its flimsiness. A chunk is missing near the plastic handle, and there are some other tears. The case is a rare find, though, in any condition.
