This is a true example of a "Time Machine". This 100% Original 1958 Fender Champ is in absolute Dead-Mint Condition. It has obviously been carefully kept in it's original box for 50 years. This was a one-owner when I bought it. I also have the one-owner Fender Steel Guitar that has been it's closet companion for the last 50 years. It is listed seperately on another auction. The Steel Guitar was the only instrument ever used in this amp. I have not turned this amp on myself and do not plan to. I talked with the original owner when I bought it and he assured me that it worked perfectly. He said he quit playing when he lost his eyesight.
I took the back cover off to get pics of the circuit. It had never been opened since it left the factory. Everything on this piece is dead mint and 100% Original. No yellowing at all on the tweed because it was kept in the box. Notice the picture with the back off. There is no color difference at all between the virgin tweed underneath the backboard and the rest of this amplifier. Not even any fraying on the corners. Crisp and Clean ! This is truely like going back in time to 1958.
The original shipping box was opened at the bottom so the top of it is still sealed as shown in the pics. It even has the original packing wedge that covered the front of the amp. The packing wedge has a Fender stamp on it and the shipping box has the serial number on it that matches the amp. Very cool piece of gear here. This Fender Champ is worthy of the most discriminating collector or player. It just don't get any better than this. If anything in the pictures looks like a stain or a flaw, I assure you that it is not. Again, this amp is Mint !
Keep in mind that this is a very rare opportunity to own one of the best if not THE best original 1958 Fender Champ in the country.
