Description

This is a framed oil painting of Bernini's fountains in Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy. This is from approx the early 1960's ,which was right in the middle of the "La Dolce Vita" era that was happening in Rome at the time. The fountain in the foreground is the Fontana del Moro or Moro fountain , the other fountain is at the base of the spire to the centre right of the picture. The other 2 fountains have not been added to the picture as there are 4. The painting is in very good conditon with very minor signs if any of aging. The wooden frame is decorated with a lime wash and gold wash trim that has some rubbing wear. There is an artist signature to the lower left in bright red paint which is not legible. 

Measures 69cm wide x 59cm or 27 1/8'' x 23 1/4''.

The painting was framed in Hawthorn, Melbourne and the phone number to the back is consistent with the early 1960's as well as the framing method used .
