Commemorative Ashtray

This is an absolute gem!  It looks to have never been used, and has been well protected over the years.

The ashtray was created by the Red Wing Pottery company in Redwing, Minnesota, in 1965 to celebrate and honor the Minnesota Twins representation in the World Series.

The ash tray is just over 12 inches long and 6.75 inches wide, and stands 1.75 inches high.

The ashtray has two bowls, connected by a ridged cigarette holder between them.  The bowl on the left depicts a globe with "1965 World Series" written in the center.  The bowl on the right depicts the old Twins logo with the Minneapolis and Saint Paul 'Twins' shaking hands over the river, with a baseball in the background, all in the outline of the State of Minnesota.  In addition, it reads Minnesota Twins 1965 American League Champions.

The top and side of the ash tray are in mint condition.  The colors and glazing are spectacular.

The bottom of the ash tray shows the Red Wing Potteries USA logo, and the three spots in the glazing where the stand held it upright for firing.  I have included two photos of the back of the ashtray.  It is the same photo.  The second, I have pointed out the 3 glazing marks on the back of the ash tray with black arrows.  The other spots you see are actually reflections from the lights and the flash.  The three spots I have pointed out are the only spots you will see on the back. 

It was difficult to take a photo of the ashtray, as the bowl design and the high gloss glazing reflected the lights and the flash.

I have seen a few of these over the years, and this is the best I have ever seen...  It is clean, sharp, no dings or nicks, down right spectacular.

So, where did all these Ebay items you are selling come from?

To make a long story short, we recently inherited a lifetime of treasures.  We were overwhelmed to find out how much stuff was collected over the years, and the variety.  From baseball cards to antique spinning wheels, from cigar boxes to bumper stickers, from trains to board games, from dolls to magazines.  You name it, and we probably have it in a box someplace…  There is not much rhyme or reason to the items we list – we are doing this one box at a time.

So, why are you selling this on Ebay?

Well, for a couple of reasons.  First of all, we really do not have the room in our home for all of these treasures nor do we share the same interests in what was collected.  We need to sell the items somehow…  Secondly and quite honestly, we would prefer to keep the proceeds in the family verses giving most of it to an auction house or estate liquidator.  We had some success with Ebay a while back and decided to give it a go.

Personal checks are fine as well.  If you have a rating of 25 or more, and 100% positive feedback, we will ship your items as soon as payment arrives.  If not, we will ship your items as soon as funds clear.

Paypal is also accepted.

Shipping and Handling:

We will normally use USPS Priority Mail.  We can arrange other shipping options and can include shipping insurance if you wish.  After the auction, we will confirm your preference for shipping, as well as, confirm the exact shipping amount.  We usually ship within two business days after receipt of funds, and will notify you when the package ships.

We package and weigh our products before listing so you have this available in the shipping calculator.

We always add delivery confirmation to the shipping charges, to make sure your items have arrived safely.  This cost is included in the shipping calculator as a $1.45 handling fee.
