1965 Wheel Horse, Wheelhorse, model 1055 Garden Tractor

This is a nicely restored 1965 Wheel Horse 1055 with 36 inch mower deck. This tractor has been beautifully restored and looks great. The paint job is fantastic and the tractor is mechanically sound and was in use mowing when I purchased it. I bought it for the non-original 12HP engine that was on it, but I also got the original style 10HP engine with it. I can't verify that it's the original, but I believe it's what it was suppose to have. The wiring and battery cables are in great shape. The battery was new this year. The shifter boot is new. Front tires have Wheel Horse molded in the rubber. The rears are BF Goodrich. All tires hold air fine. The seat is in nice shape. Overall it's a very nice tractor ready for parade duty or work (with a little engine help). Now the bad news. The engine needs rebuilt. The previous owner had it apart and used micrometers and measured everything. It needs bored, (currently .010 over), and the crank ground (currently std.) I cleaned and inspected the carburetor and set the float. It seems to be fine with a fairly tight throttle shaft. The big Delco starter / generator cranks fine. It will fire and run but barely. I drove the tractor around with the 12HP engine it had when I bought it and it operated fine. Like I said the guy was mowing with it up to the point I bought it. The guy I bought it off of said the 10HP engine smoked really bad and that's why he put the 12HP engine on. If you have a good solid running Kohler sitting around you can have you a really nice looking tractor with little effort.
