For your consideration is this 1966 Fender Tele perfect for the Telecaster enthusiast. CONDITION: The overall condition and playability of this guitar is amazing. It sounds and plays like a vintage Tele should. It is a great example of Fender Tele made just shortly after Fender was purchased by CBS. It has definitely become a player's guitar as it has some small changes and issues to note. The Body: This
Telecaster has been professionally refinished in Sherwood Green by a
company in San Dimas. Both the body and neck are stamp matched and
original. The body dates to 1966. The neck dates to March of 1966. All
of the components and control plate parts are original and dated to
1966. No pots have been replaced and no joints have been touched. The
bridge pickup is original to the guitar. One of the screws that holds
the bridge plate in the guitar has broken off into the body as is shown
in the pictures. The screw is still in the body and no drilling or
filling has been done to the body. The bridge stays firmly to the body
despite the screw break and no structural integrity has been
compromised. It is purely a cosmetic issue. All of the parts of the
guitar on the body are original with the exception of the neck pickup. The neck pickup is not original to this guitar but it is most likely an original 70's Fender pickup. The
guitar body has not been routed or altered. The pickguard is original
to the guitar and exhibits many years of jamming and tender playing.
The body has been aged fantastically and has a cool relic vibe.The Neck: The
tuners were changed some time ago to Grovers but the holes have been
filled and the tuners replaced with reissue Kluson tuners. There was an
added string tree that has been removed and the hole has been filled.
The neck was re-fretted. There is no overspray on the neck. The nut is
original to the guitar. There is some nice wear on the back of the
neck. The neck has the exact 60's feel you crave and plays nice and
easy. It is a slight C shaped neck that almost all reissue necks copy. This guitar truly is a player's dream. Pictures tell it better than I can describe it so take a look at the photos and see for yourself. It is your chance to own a 60's Fender without having to mortgage the house or take out a loan. I have owned this guitar for quite some time and have loved playing it. I wouldn't sell it unless I was forced to. A perfect project for the collector.
