DESCRIPTION: This is an old battery-operated toy car that resembles a 1967 to 1968 Cadillac convertible. The box says that it was made by Iwaya in Korea. It was probably made in the late-1960’s to early 1970’s. It features working headlights, forward and backward motion, and horn sound. It comes with its original box and insert.
MATERIALS: Factory painted tin body, interior, and frame; all chrome parts are plastic, except the windshield frame is metal; plastic front seats and steering wheel; vinyl/rubber tires
DIMENSIONS: 13“ long (unknown scale)
CONDITION: Overall EXCELLENT CONDITION, probably NEVER PLAYED WITH. It has nice, bright, shiny paint. It has a couple of light scuffs probably from the manufacturing process or from rubbing in the box. The battery box is clean inside. I put batteries in, and the motor runs, but makes a very high pitched squeal. The wheels don‘t turn, so I suspect a gear is stripped. The headlights work and the horn honks by pushing on the steering wheel. The original box lid is solid with some corner and edge wear, some stains, and some small tears. The original box bottom has the packing insert, however, there is some crud in the bottom of the box that has badly stained it.
FYI: Our pictures are taken under bright incandescent camera lighting or using a flash that sometimes fades out the colors or makes them appear brighter. This also helps to show all distinguishing features and possible flaws on the item. Most of our antiques and collectibles have much darker, deeper, richer colors than appear in some of our photos, especially reds that tend to turn orange in appearance. THIS CAR IS BRIGHT RED.
If you collect battery-op toys, or vintage Cadillac toy cars, this would make a nice addition to your collection.
