I know she ain't pretty and if you're a collector you might want to pass on this guitar. However if you are a player it just doesn't get any better. Up for auction is a relic from the Woodstock era... 1969. The story I chased down was the original owner played in an "Eagles" tribute band and toured extensively for years until retiring the bass to a recording studio in 1994. You can't duplicate the smooth tones of vintage pickups and it was used in many recordings. The pictures show a lot of finish checking and wear but other than that it's all original and a great player. The serial number is 280000 which according to the Fender website was the last Fender (all models) guitar built in the sixties. If you need more pictures or have any questions please ask. I only use Canada Post for shipping (never damaged a guitar yet). You can get shipping quotes from www.canadapost.ca or pick up in Toronto Canada. As always good luck to all bidders. On 25-Oct-09 at 15:50:30 EDT, seller added the following information: There seems to be a lot of interest in the serial number and the fact that it was the last Fender built guitar in the sixties. Only Fender can verify that fact but the following is copied from their website:
100000 to 110000 = late 1965 |
