The scanned images depict this coin fairly well, but can't due justice to the overall appearance of this 1 Dollar coin from New Zealand, issued in 1969.  Gorgeous proof like uncirculated copper-nickel coin with lovely highly reflective luster both sides and strong eye appeal for the brilliant uncirculated grade with and attractive hint of attractive gold at very rim edge that highlights proof like luster nicely. Well below average marks and lots of eye appeal that makes this a wonderful find for any quality collection. Sharply struck coin has solid features. no evidence of handling. Please note: the highly reflective nature of this proof like coin bounces light in the imaging process and makes it appeal dark in the image. It is bright and pretty with a very faint hint of tone over. Will be a welcome addition to any World or South Pacific coin collection. Obverse depicts head of a young crowned Elizabeth II facing right, date. Reverse depicts James Cook (1728 to 1779), English circumnavigator, a map of New Zealand of 1769 and H. M. S. "Endeavor". Terrific bit of New Zealand history for any collection. This item was part of my husband's collection. He is terminally ill with cancer and wants me to sell all of his private collection, coins and currency. I have three minor children to raise and so I comply.
