EXTREMELY SCARCE! The last year the mint state Kennedy was struck in silver! Only 2.15 million examples struck – nearly all are extremely baggy. I have often gone through small groups of 1970 mint sets looking for cherry 1970-D halves, always with little or no success. I may have stumbled across a couple MS 65’s over the years, but that is about it. For a coin so inexpensive, the 1970-D gem offers one of the best numismatic values today! Well, I just acquired a magnificent horde from an individual who spent many years accumulating the finest examples he could, and I have 9 MS 65’s in all. These blazers are all blast-white, fully struck, and extremely clean – cleaner than any I could find in my own pursuits! For the record, I have never seen a brilliant MS 67 example of this date.
