Detailed Description
Up for Auction is a rare Platinum Belage
in the sturdy steel design. The name Belage (pronounce BayLahGay ) is a Japanese phrasing for Beautiful Age. The 1970's were indeed a beautiful age for Japan. After the successful 1964 Tokyo Summer Olympic games, Japan's exports and economy surged forward. National Pride was high again after surviving a painful postwar reconstruction era.
Platinum started to make pens that reflected the new age. It moved away from the standard pens that were nearly always black with a little gold trim. The new pens were bright colorful and made of newer materials.
This pen is a nice big steel pen with a bold clip. The cap and barrel are made of a sturdy stainless steel, the same steel that is found in the famous and highly sought after Murex pens.
| The nib is a 14K Rhodium Medium point. Rhodium is a precious metal in the Platinum family. It is often called white gold. This nib is very smoothly ground |

and is a real pleasure to write with.
