Hi, and thanks for stopping by! Up for grabs is a really sweet guitar- a vintage Gibson SG Special from 1974! The serial # is 513xxx (full serial # not disclosed for fraud purposes), and the pots further confirm the year as you'll see in the below photo. This is the first time I have ever had the pleasure of listing a SG Special, and I must say I am impressed. The coloration of the guitar is a nice, aged Walnut, and it's got some really cool features as well as some distinctive looking pickups. She's a cool guitar for sure, and sounds as sweet as she looks- check out the photos and I'll tell you more about this 1974 Gibson SG Special that can be yours for one BUY IT NOW price... first bidder wins!!!
Isn't she a cool guitar? The wood grain on the guitar is stunning, and the color is very rich- the guitar definitely has that early 70's vibe to it! And she is near original as well. Her pickups are the original Gibson Pat. No. mini-humbuckers, you can see the black stickers on the backs of the pickups in the photo above. And the tone on this guitar is awesome! Great vintage tone, pure vintage rock and roll! And the great part about this guitar is that she is all original with the exception of a newer Graphtech bridge (don't have the original, sorry). I took lots of photos so you can see all the ins and outs of this awesome guitar. As far as the condition of the guitar goes- as you can see from the photos she looks super-cool, but she does have some playwear expected of a 34-year old guitar. If you look closely at her top, you'll find some scattered indentations, light scratches, some edgewear. I also noticed that one of the corners of the neck pickup ring is cracked- probably a pretty easy replacement, but I wanted to leave the guitar original. She definitely has been played and enjoyed, but still looks great and has all the mojo you'd expect from a 1974 SG. Moving onto the frets, these are original, and you'll find some light fretwear on the first several frets, no deep gouges, just some light wear. And the action is nice and low, making this a superb player!!! If you flip this SG over to the back, you'll find some light wear, mainly some scratches and small indentations, but the back of the guitar is in surprisingly good shape for a 1974 with no excessive wear or lacquerwear typically seen on guitars of this era. Moving up the neck, this is in good shape overall with just a few small spots of lacquerwear/dullness, and the neck has a comfortable medium rounded feel to it, more 50's style, very nice! The back of the headstock is overall in very good shape with only very light wear, and she is still rocking her original Gibson Deluxe tuners with no extra holes. Also, the weight of this guitar is a nice, comfortable 6 lbs. 14 oz., extremely comfortable to play when you have those long gigs or rehearsals! Finally, there are NO headstock/neck breaks, cracks, or repairs, this guitar is solid, gorgeous and ready to play! And she can be yours for one BUY IT NOW price... first bidder wins!!! It features a unique blend of hip-hop beats, along with country and rock guitars (many of them various Les Pauls), and also features the lovely lady in the photos in this auction as the lead singer/bass player!
