The item you are bidding on is a Wilton, Armetale Large Tureen w/lid & Ladle that shows a date of 1974. It holds 2 ½ quart of liquid and stands approximately 7 ¼ inches high to the top of the finial on the lid. The bowl opening is 8 ½ inches across. Except for some very minor rub marks here and there it is in perfect condition. The lid, bowl and ladle are all marked Wilton. The lid and the bowl are both marked Wilton, Columbia, Pa. In addition the lid has the date of 1974 stamped in it in Roman numerals. All pieces have several seals stamped in the metal indicative of Wilton. This particular tureen has the matte finish and looks somewhat like pewter. This beautiful piece of Wilton Armetale has substantial weight to it. Packed the total weight will be near 8 pounds. The large tureen in the high polished finish shown on the Wilton web site shows a manufacturers suggested retail price of $214.50.
