Volume 1 is folio and contains the facsimile reproduction of the Codex, one of the most beautiful manuscripts of Visigothic art: The Comentario al Apocalipsis de San Juan of Beatus of Liebana which is kept at the Cathedral of Gerona. The manuscript is dated 975, and contains 131 mniatures and over 1, 200 motifs. A magnificent facsimile, bound in full leather, gilt. Accompanied by two copies of the companion volume, one in English/Latin and the other in Spanish/Latin. It contains the complete Latin text as transcribed by Henry A. Sanders in 1929 along with commentaries on the manuscript by J. Camon Aznar, T. Marin Martinez and J. Marques Casanovas. Quarter leather, linen sides. A fine set.
