 e Original Vintage 1978 Concert Poster Featuring The Bar-Kays Size- 22" x 28"
A rare vintage 1970's large window card poster for a concert at the Memorial Auditorium in Chatanooga Tennessee headlining the popular soul, R&B, and funk group, The Bar-Kays. R&B and Disco singer Evelyn King shared the bill. Originally Otis Redding's backing band, four of The Bar-Kay's members, along with Redding, died in a plane crash in 1967. Two survivors rebuilt the group and went on to record a number of hits through the 1970's.
These
days, 1960's and 1970's Rock N' Roll / Soul posters like this one are becoming next to impossible to
find. This post-Fillmore Era Day-Glo cardboard poster is in fine condition over all, although there is some surface wear and two holes made when it was originally tacked up . Although the small type at the bottom is illegible, this is in fact a Globe Poster printed in Baltimore Maryland.
