1979 12-coin Proof Set from the Philadelphia
and Denver Mints, mintage of 2,526,000 sets.
The 1979 United States Mint Uncirculated Coin Set® contains two folders of 6 coins each, one from the United States Mint at Denver and the other from the United States Mint at Philadelphia, for a total of 12 coins. Each folder includes uncirculated versions of the following 1979-dated coins: One Anthony dollar, one Kennedy half-dollar, one Washington quarter, one Roosevelt dime, one Jefferson nickel and one Lincoln cent.
Uncirculated coins are struck on special presses using greater force than circulating coins, producing a sharp, intricately detailed image. The coins are sealed in a water proof and air proof blister package. One folder contains coins bearing the “D” mint mark for Denver and the other contains coins bearing the no mint mark for Philadelphia.
This set not only makes a great gift but is also an enduring reminder of our Nation’s History. These coins were minted in 1979, and never again!
