Commemorative 90% Silver Proof Half Dollar

  Offered for sale is an absolutely beautiful coin honoring America's first President, George Washington on the occasion of his 250th Birthday. The coin is a high frosted relief with mirror-like finish; portrays President Washington astride his nobel steed on the obverse and Mount Vernon on the reverse. This Commemorative Coin is the first to be produced by the U.S. Mint since 1954. It was authorized in 1981, minted in San Francisco, and also is the first 90% Silver coin minted by the United States since 1964 with a weight of .4019 troy ounces. My photos simply do not do this Silver Half Dollar justice; it is a gorgeous coin. It remains sealed and housed as it came from the Mint, COA included.
I have several of these Commemorative Washington Half Dollars which are all identical; these particular photos are representative of all of them.
This fantastic example of numistic coinage remains owned by the original purchasing family.
