1985 Fender (Japan) 'Contemporary Strat' Electric w/Bag
This is a 1985 Fender (made in Japan) Model 'Contemporary Strat' Electric Guitar with non-original used TKL Gigbag. Used. Serial #E515677. This is a 'transition' era Strat made for the US market by FujiGen Gakki of Japan. This is one of the Japan 'E-Series' models. Some features: 'Foam Green Metallic' over 'White' paint finish on a solid alder body (Looks to be 'factory'. Many large chips that show both 'layers' of paint, dings, dents, buckle rash on front of guitar body and on the back and scratches over most of the body finish - see photo), maple neck with 'skunk stripe' and rosewood fretboard, 22 frets (some 'divots' on first five frets, though not major), 'Fender' sealed gear tuning machines, two original Fender Alnico Humbucker Pickups, one 'Volume' Control, one 'TBX' Tone control, original control knobs missing their top 'caps', small toggle for 'coil tap', three-way pickup selector switch (missing the plastic knob), black painted headstock (some chips in the wood and finish on headstock top and side edges, see photo), Fender Series II or III? (made by Schaller/Germany) tremolo bridge (missing the whammy bar). Also the E,A,D and G string saddles are missing their 'hex head' set screws that adjust saddle height. The 'B' string saddle is missing some chrome plating. Also, there is a small 2.5mm hex screws just below the lower strap button that adjusts spring tension to the bridge (see photo). This Strat was someone's 'player' guitar!! Lots of life left in this one though! Just thru the shop with new strings and a set-up. Ready to rock!! Nice neck angle! Please ask all questions BEFORE you bid! Happy bidding!!
