***1988 Gibson ES-335 Showcase Edition***

This is a rare vintage 1988 Gibson ES-335 Showcase Edition in the Beige/Off White finish, the only color that was offered on this extremley limited run model. This is one of only 200 distributed in the United States(another 50 were built for foreign distribution) and it's in excellent all original condition - check the eBay and the rest of the internet to try and find another one in this condition for sale. The Showcase Edition instruments were part of Gibson's Guitar-of-the-month series in 1988, and the Gibson ES-335 Showcase Edition was offered only in April 1988, again with only 200 released in the USA. It has the gold "Showcase Edition" logo on the the back of the headstock.

The features on this fully original, collectible instrument include the unique finish, cream body & neck binding, a Rosewood fretboard with pearl dot inlays, inlaid "crown" & Gibson logo in the blackface headstock, active electronics with factory original EMG pickups, 3-ply raised black pickguard, black hat knobs, black hardware, stop tailpiece with Tuneomatic bridge, and factory Grover tuners. Included is the pictured Gibson Memphis Deluxe hardshell case(B.B.King logo) that fits this guitar perfectly.One proud owner of a 335 Showcase said this on the web: "I have played two other Showcase Gibsons...these are wonderful guitars. I've seen only one other Showcase Edition sell on eBay in the last couple of months - it had a lot of wear and tear and still sold for $2,000. This one is in exceptionally nice condition with just some light laquer finish checks in the finish on the sides & a couple of spots on the body, and very light surface scratches you have to turn in the light to see. There is very little fret wear and it plays extremely well, as you'd expect from an ES-335 - it's extremely rare to find one of these showcase editions in this condition. The 2008 Vintage Price Guide values this instrument at $2,300 to $2,500 - this one is priced to move at well under book value! Thanks for looking and good luck!
