This is the Center for Southern Folklore's official 1999 Memphis Music & Heritage Festival Poster.  Artwork for the poster was done by Memphis' own award-winning graphic artist, Eddie Tucker.  The poster measures 24" x 18". 

Founded in 1972, the Center for Southern Folklore is a non-profit cultural center located in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, just a block from historic Beale Street.  For two decades the Center has showcased artists whose music has helped define the music of our region in what is our gift to the world: the yearly Memphis Music & Heritage Festival.  From urban blues to rockabilly, from folk to gospel and soul to salsa, this festival is Memphis Music and its best!  The event is held every Labor Day weekend on the Saturday and Sunday of that holiday weekend.  It's family friendly and best of all - it's free to the public!  In Memphis's daily paper, The Commercial Appeal, music critic, Bill Ellis writes, "Something special happens once a year.  No, it's not Santa Claus bearing gifts, though for music fans it might as well be.  It's the Memphis Music & Heritage Festival, the only weekend where you can boogie, strut, jitterbug, sway and, of course, do the funky chicken to your heart's content."  The Kreature Comforts: Lowlife Guide to Memphis says: "If you are planning your visit to Memphis around a music weekend, this would be the one to choose.  This is the real thing if you dig deep on Memphis sounds.  Take our word for it, don't miss this festival!"
