Untitled Document Antique Hanau Silver 800 Ornate Tea Caddy
This is an older German (from Hanau) solid silver 800 tea caddy. The item was made by the Gebrueder Dingeldein (Brothers), who operated 1868 to 1925. The caddy is highly decorated with wonderful courting scenes. It measures approximately 3 1/8” x 3 ¾” x 1 7/8”. We note that the lid rests loosely (no evidence of damage), and that a few minor light dings are evident on the bottom (not on any of the sides). The piece is fairly heavy, at about 144 grams.
