19th. C. Commemorative Medal by Thomas Ottley Championship Agricultural Award
Fine Commemorative Medal by Thomas Ottley, Medalist and Die Sinker, Birmingham. The championship medal was awarded to Doris Rothwell. Beautifully cased, with deep purple lining, and marked for Ottley. Please view all pictures to capture the details bestowed on the medal. One side of the medal shows a basket with lattice detail over-flowing with fruit encircled by flowers. The other side offers details of the award surround by a wreath. Marked with Radcliffe & Prestwich, which is a Deanery in England; the medal perhaps was for a church sponsored planting competition. Imagine the smile on her face when presented with this fine medal. Measurements: 1 3/4" or 4.5cm Condition: Medal, very good, box good with scruffs to leather
