Early Folk Art Topsy Tuvey Doll In Red & Blue Calico Dresses

Wonderful later Victorian era topsy tuvey doll measuring 17" tall to the bottom of the dress. (The dolls, themselves, measure 12" tall). The black doll is dressed in red dot calico while the white doll is dress in blue calico. Some machine sewing but most is hand sewn. Gathers on both of the dresses at the waist are of guage pleats. Faces of dolls are of a polished cloth with hand painted faces...or suppose to be. I'm not sure what was intended on the face of the white doll. The hand & arm of the black doll is sewn in a brown fabric on the front and black on the back. The other arm is done all in black. These looks to have always been this way. Seam has left go a tiny bit on this one hand but a few stitches would close. A cotton batting stuffing. Condition is nice...slight soiling of dresses but this is to be expected. No major holes or stains. Please email for further details if needed.
