A cobalt decorated 2 gallon stoneware crock, dating to the mid to late 19th C. This crock is decorated with a very folky & rare jack-o-lantern or pumpkin face design. The handles on either side are very small, they look almost like ears. This piece is in great condition, with a small chip to either handle and a very thin spider line on the bottom, appears to be in the making (see pictures). It has a small amount of light gray spray paint on the bottom, below the design. This could probably be removed quite easily. There are no other chips, cracks or hairlines. I found this piece recently in a local estate on the eastern end of Long Island. This crock measures 11 1/4" tall and 9" in diameter.
