19th Cent. Italian Classical Marble & Bronze Sculpture

We are selling this fine quality late 19^th  century Italian Classical Grand Tour Bronze Statue of Cesar on horseback mounted upon an oval and rectangular white marble pedestal with cut corners and carved crests at each end.

We believe it to be circa 1870-1880.

The  marble base is very well carved and has great color. Very good quality.

Engraved on the underside of the marble base-

MARCUS AURELIUS ANTONIUS ROMAN EMPEROR 121-180 A.D.

This sculpture is in overall fine condition. Marble base also in fine condition with no chips, cracks or damages.

The bronze figure comes off the pedestal as it sits on two pins, and the pedestal comes off of the base. Total is 3 pieces.

Height- 14-3/4”

Width of base- 8”

Overall width_   9”

Depth of base-  5-1/2”

Base height is 6-1/8”

Finish on bronze is dull, when wet it shines up nicely.
