In this auction we are selling a very fine pair of gilt bronze candle holders from the 19th century in Neo -Classical or French Empire form.  The candle holders are supported by Putti in Neo-Classical dress.  The figures were constructed in two parts and secured by a screw as shown.  Each figure stands on a nice engine turned column mounted on square base.  One of the screws in the base looks to be a replacement (see photo).  We believe these were made during the Second Empire period, or Napoleon lll period.  For their age the candle holders retain most of the gilding.  There are a few imperfections.  One boboche has a crack; there is a separation between the feet on one figure; and a small hole under the arm of one Putti that looks to be a mold defect.  Not bad for their age!  Height is about 14 inches.  Lots of photos so it make take time to download ~ thanks for your patience!

RETURNS:   For returns, please notify me within three days after you have received the item.  Item must be returned within seven days in exact same condition as when it was originally shipped.  We try very hard to describe all items accurately, but if an item is inadvertently misrepresented, or there is a condition issue we missed, we will gladly accept a return.  Sorry, no returns for a change of heart, so please bid carefully.

SHIPPING:   Buyer is responsible for shipping and insurance costs on purchases and returns.  We ship USPS whenever possible, but we will accommodate buyers need.  Due to the significant increase in rates for priority mail large packages by the USPS, we will now be shipping large packages (those over 1 cubic foot) by parcel post or ground.  Shipping cost is based on zip code or country.  Seller is not responsible for damage or loss to uninsured items in transit.  We never charge for handling or materials.  Be assured your purchase will be packed with utmost care.   Thank you for looking and good luck bidding.
