19th FRENCH FOOTED STERLING SALTS SHAPED CUT LINERS EX

Wonderful quality pair of silver salts with original glass inserts.  Hallmarked in three places on the salts. The hallmarks are very small and difficult to read. I am not positive, but feel the salts are French late 19th century. They are marked 950 with is a little purer silver than sterling.

In the last three photos I have tried to show the hallmarks. I see can see the number 950 in a peaked square. I can see the letter A with the number 5 underneath. I can see a D with a zig zag line underneath.

The salts are an oval shape with undulating sides. On both sides is a oval cartouch with ribbon, bow, and flower motif. The side feet are scrolled with leaf motif either side.

The glass inserts are also beautifully made, blown glass, shaped and cut with star motif on the bottom.

The salts measure: 2 1/2" by 1 1/2"

They are 1 1/2" tall.
