Dating from the latter part of the 19th century, a distinctive open face pocket compass signed ‘Negretti & Zambra, London’ on the card dial. The compass body is of polished nickel construction, and the English cross bar needle pivots on a gemstone bearing under a clean bevelled crystal. The crystal is retained within a rotating bezel which locks & unlocks the needle for transit.

Measuring 45mm in diameter, this is a very stylish Victorian compass in full working order, and great cosmetic condition, no dents or damage. It comes in a modern presentation card & red silk case for protection and display.
