| $500 - $1200 VALUE SWASTIKA KERAMOS 11" TAPERING HAND PAINTED FLORAL EWER IN IRIDESCENT GLAZES in shades of burgundy and green on a bold gold background. Swastika Keramos is a line of art pottery made from 1906 to 1908 by the Owen China Company of Minerva, Ohio. Many pieces were made with an iridescent glaze. Swastika Keramos pottery was introduced by the Owen China Company in 1906. It was said to be introduced at the 1905 Lewis and Clark Exposition. The Swastika Keramos line was produced only for a short period of time. It has been rumored that Swastika Keramos was developed by John Lessell. Lessell is best known for development of Weller LaSa. The ewer is 11" tall and the base is 5 1/2" diameter. Most examples of Swastika Keramos are marked with a raised seal mark,as seen in photo #2. WORTH POINT, "the premier website for antiques and collectables", lists the same style ewer, with a different pattern, which sold, at auction in 2003, for $646.00. Other web sites, including KOVELS, list the value between $500 - $1200. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or fissures. There is a rough spot on the brim where a very very small amount of paint may have been scratched or sluffed off, see photo #6. There is some paint wear along ridges of the handle and along the brim. There are small scratches on the glaze but not through the glaze, the largest of these can be seen in photo #5 on the upper left corner of the ewer. This is a truely remarkable piece for it's age and medium. You will definetly not be disappointed! WE WILL PAY THE INSURANCE!!!
