We have for auction a 1 LB (16 ounce) cone or hank of an elegant wool crepe knitting crochet yarn in a color called classic black. This is a classic traditional high twisted wool crepe yarn from a well known manufacturer of yarns used to knit designer clothing similar to St. Johns knits. The yarn is specifically made to retain its shape and said to have memory when it is knit. It is a joy to knit with. It retains its shape and elasticity and has been used for years by well known designers to knit sweaters for men and women suits jackets dresses and even slacks. This is an elegant yarn for elegant garments that can be worn year round. This wool crepe yarn content is: 80% wool 20% Rayon. There are approximately 2800 yards on the 16-ounce cone or hank. Hand knitters may want to double it to get an approximate gauge of: 5 to 6 inches using a size 4 to 6 needle. It is perfect for the standard knitting machine and gets approximately 8 to 9 stitches and 12 to 13 rows per inch when used single strand.
