This is what a burnt R11 & Q6 look like on the control boards.

Always replace Q6, even if it doesn't look damaged, it is.

Make sure Q6's flat side is facing in the same direction

as on the printed board.R11's position doesn't matter.

Very easy to do,instructions....

Tools needed: phillips screwdriver, or 8mm hand socket (faster)

!UNPLUG THE ELECTRICITY FROM THE WALL!

The following photos will help you find your board & wax motor for both the neptune stacker & the single units.

Neptune single units(upper control board location)

Remove all 3 screws from the top as shown.

Grab the control panel on both ends and pull the plastic frame clips out of the holes, make sure green ground wire stays on when putting back, also make sure light clips are secure behind the control board.

Look good at R11 for burns if it looks good, then look at R43 for any burns.

If both resistors are o.k your having a different machine problem.

This kit will not solve your problem. Only replace the wax motor.

If R11 is burned continue. If you find R43 burned look at my trouble

shooting section #4, on what resistor to replace it with.

IF YOU FIND R43 BURNED OR DISCOLORED AND NOT R11,YOU MAY NEED TO REPLACE YOUR MACHINE CONTROL BOARD. I RECOMMEND REPLACING THE RESISTOR FIRST,BEFORE SPENDING $100'S ON A NEW BOARD.Look at troubleshooting # 4 below.

Trouble shooting after installing all three items(R11,Q6 & waxmotor)

Still not spinning?

1) Check that your spring clip is not squeezed to much, expand it more so that

the wax motor is sitting firm and tight, otherwise it will not plunge all the way

to activate the spin cycle.

2) Did you remember to replace Q6 & place in its proper  position?.Replace it even if it looks good, its not! If you dont, the R11 will burn again, and you will need another R11.

3) Run a complete wash cycle.Running straight to the rinse to check if its going to spin doesnt always work, the board needs to reset itself to the new components.

4) Check R43 if its burned.Your board maybe beyond repair. You can try replacing the resistor with an 18k ohm 1/4 watt carbon film resistor, and see if that works before spending $100's on a new board.

5) last check the motor control board located at the bottom front of the washer mounted against the right side. The board looks almost like the upper board. There is a glass fuse about 1"long it has a filament, you will need a mirror and flash light to check it down there.if its burned your motor control board is no good.(to get to this board,do the tear down like getting to the wax motor, the front panel, U shape needs to come off to expose the bottom side.

Once you get this washer up and running again, your family is going to think your a genius.
